Spot Details
IKO Supervised Kite Spot Located on a family type campground. Strict behaviour policy is enforced. No kiting at the swimmers beach close to the gate. Spot is about 1km after entrance.
Entrance to the site is $10.00 per car, paid at the front gate. Kite spot is managed entirely by Ecole de Kite René Senécal (Acess ramps, air-compressors, toilet facilites, emergency boat, etc. As yet no fees have been charged for the services)
Winds are good: NW(gusty) W(ok.), SW(good), SSW(best), S(best On shore), SSE(excellent (there is a bay effect), SE(good)
The lake has a Sandy bottom with some clams, and in summer season there is 4ft of water at 800m, a flag is placed to indicate the end of shallow zone. There are rarely swimmers or boats.
All Launches and Landings have to be done in the water 50m from the stone bulkhead.
No Jumping or riding is permitted in the launching zone located in front of stone wall.
Please respect the school zone. Beginner riders should try and keep to the right when facing the lake. More advanced riders practicing unhook jumps should keep to the left, or beyond the water depth flag.
The site can accomodate 50 kiters.
